One thing that makes me feel great about myself as a writer is your presence in my life as a reader, family or a friend. My writing journey wouldn't be worth talking about without your love and support. The time you dedicated to read each of my writeup meant a lot to me. Your comments, both the positive and negative, has added value to my life. And for sharing my write-ups on your various platforms, I can't thank you enough. For the well wishes and inspiration you overwhelmed me with at some points, I am grateful and I assure, something simply amazing is about to hit us; me and you. I value you as a reader, well wisher, friend and family. May God richly bless you and may this season overwhelm you with beautiful achievements. Gracias!

December Is Here, What Next?

I'm glad you are excited December is finally here and I'm glad Grace brought you to the last month. But the question is, now that December is here, what next? 2017 has been a wonderful ride so far but how great your year was is determined by how it ended. This is why you have to make sure you make everyday of this month count, just to make your year a perfect one. The following are few ways to make your year amazing in this last month. Refire the goals you misfired . Before the year began, you had a lot of dreams you wanted to achieve before the year comes to an end but unfortunately there are some dreams that you failed to achieve. That is fine, it is never too late, you can achieve some this month. Refire the goals you misfired or take steps to achieve them in the coming year. Touch a life . This month, show love and support to those who need love and lack support. Say kind words, help when you can and do something to put a smile on a face. There's no better way

I'm Super Excited I Participated In Django Girls Koforidua

Earlier, I was telling some friends how much love I have developed for programming. I also told them how glad I was participating in the Django Girls Koforidua event. Wondering why? Read this. Acquisition of new skills . Whenever I acquire a new skill, my heart says to me, "it is not enough, acquire more" and I enjoy obeying my heart. It is true I have skills but it is also true they were incomplete without the new one I just acquired at the workshop. And for your information, Coding is my new love. Expansion of  Network . Networking is one of the reasons I love attending events and participating in this workshop did introduce me to amazing young ladies as well as impact driven young men nailing it out there. These great minds were worth meeting and some were worth having in my cycle of influence. Ever heard "surround yourself with people on the same mission"? Yep. Fun, Fun and  Fun .  Yes, I really had fun. Right from taking 'selfie' and capturing the m

Don't Shiver!

When you reach your hall That very hall of maximization You will fall Fall for transformation So when you fall Don't shiver Don't quiver Just stay calm In order to receive the balm So that your scar Can turn into a star The star that you are The star that shines Way beyond darkness Don't shiver When you fall When you fall Don't remain there Though the wound hurts Just apply the balm and Rise again Rise and take over ©Racheal Wyettey. This poem empowers you to rise up after falling. Its a reminder that falling is inevitable because its part of the transformation process. If you felt inspired, do share to inspire others. Comments are welcome.

Waiting For My Bay

Right on the hay I did lay Wondering if I may Ever have my bay At the serene tay So that I can fay Truly with my gay And shout out yay On that day While on my way Back to my cay Where my toil did pay In the presence of the ray ©Rachealwyettey  This poem talks about that moment in our life when all we do is wait expectantly for the result of our efforts towards the achievement of our particular dream. It portrays our  hope for and expectations of the future because of what we planted yesterday. It's about that one thing that makes us work, work and work despite the inconveniences.

Another Chapter Has Opened: Hosting Campus Agenda

W henever I'm so much content with what my sweet Jesus is doing or has done for me, He does something entirely new again. Perhaps to surprise me or better still, just to remind me, He's not done with me yet. Campus Agenda is a campus based show aired on KTU Radio 87.7 MHz and I'm the host. Good news right? Of course, it's a good news. I'm grateful you're part of this new chapter of my life. Thanks for your love and support even up to this very point if the journey. Cheers to our new chapter!  Cheers to us; you and me! Cheers to the greater days ahead of us! Now, let's do this together.

All Of That...

I've seen it all I've heard it all I've tasted it all I've felt it all I've sensed it all All of things not in my favour All of things hostile to my progress All of things contrary to my joy All of things against my survival All of that couldn't stop me All of that couldn't break me All of that couldn't steal my joy All of that couldn't hinder my success All of that gave me a reason A reason to strive harder A reason to keep smiling A reason to keep on being me A reason to value my dreams A reason to value my efforts A reason that, until there's nothing ahead No relaxing, No quitting All of that reminded me; That I'm great That I'm super talented That I can do this and do it well That the sky is not my limit All of that; Makes the journey complete. ©Rachealwyettey

My New Found Love: Radio Production

Far beyond our imagination, the very things we had little or no love for, becomes the very thing we develop immense love for. When I was first introduced to radio production, I had no idea I will enjoy it this much. Well, due to my love for script writing, I was okay producing shows; it was the fun part of it. But recently, I began to realize just how much I love being the producer; maybe it's because I've got a great crew, or it's because I just love directing. Better still, it might be because script writing is part or just the fact that the success of the show depends on me. I love all the behind the scene work, directing my host and panelists, making sure everything is in order, and I love team work. I always say we need to do whatever we find ourselves doing in love and with all we've got. This way, we will be able to discover the greater part of it. Not enjoying at the start doesn't mean you shouldn't do it well. Well, well, wel

Can You Smile On A Bad Day

After reading the title, I assume you're wondering, "How can you smile when you're in pain?". It's Okay to assume but as impossible as it may sound, it is possible. Pain is a state of mind, not a physical state, so is happiness a state of mind not a mere emotion. Our thoughts influences everything else that goes on in our being; body, mind, soul, spirit and heart; and in our lives. Your decision to smile despite how bad the day goes is the major step to doing it. Yes. Make up your mind to smile during bad moments and you're half way there. Look at the positive side of the day and of life, and how far you've come. Then, identify the cause of the problem, why it happened and what you need to do. Smiling on a bad day doesn't mean you're excited about the problem, it means you're hopeful and ready to overcome. A smile will give you the strength to conquer the troubles of the day.  I  inspire you to smile always, especially, on a bad d

When It's Hard To Keep Going, Can You Trust God?

We all get to that point where we don't feel like going on, pressing on, in our relationships, in our education and career, in out quest to find peace, love, better future; we do get tired. But then when, Your hands are tired, Your feet are weak, Your mind is at war, Your heart is hurt, Your soul is sorrowful, Your spirit weary, Your entire being can't anymore, And it's hard to keep going. But when it's hard to keep going, Can you trust God? Can you ask Him to let His holy presence wrap you up? Can you ask Him to be your comfort? Can you trust God? The moment you realize it doesn't make sense trusting Him anymore, that moment you feel like it's not essential to wait on God anymore, and that moment you realize you wish to wait but the strength isn't there anymore, is the moment you really need HIM the most. Trust in God, Trust in His timing, and Trust Him on His Word, He will fulfill His plans.

Groaning For Peace? Turn To God!

Have you ever gotten to that point in life where your soul groans for peace desperately? Where your entire being; body, mind, spirit and the heart; is crying desperately for peace? Or better still, are you at a point in life where you seeking peace? Well, everyone gets to that point, I did get there too. A number of months sum up that point in my life. At that point of my life, I had no idea how to go about answering the constant questions that kept swimming in my head, and asking these questions over and over just made my life more miserable. Right from the building of frustration, through the streets of uncertainty, down to the junction of hopelessness, I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel; the bitterness of the past, frustration of the present, and the blur future has blinded me, it has weakened me. Back then, my heart was broken, emotions shattered, spirit so gray, body so weak, mind flooded, and soul frustrated. I was never able to focus, not even for once; whet

A Stroll With My Sunshine

It’s amazing! Isn’t it? So everyone have their own share of love. Whether it is a motherly love or any other love, it is still a share of love. But it’s more overwhelming knowing almost everyone have met this one person in their life who they made them feel complete, loved and who they addressed as their sunshine. Oh yea! But what excites me the most is the fact that we all have a love story to share. Love stories of the stroll we took or have taken so far with our sunshine’. Whether this story saddens our heart, makes us happy, brings us good memory, discourages others or inspires others, they are still the stories made out of our own share of love and they form a vital part of our journey in this world. And you know what? I have my own love story to share. A story I have entitled, “A Stroll With My Sunshine.” Sometimes you meet someone, and it’s so clear so immediately that the two of you, on some level, belong together; as lovers, as friends, or as family, or as something entirely

Letter To My Dear Friend 2

Dear friend,  If you can’t PROMOTE me,  don’t DEMOTE me.  My mum once said,  “if you need promotion, join the ship of friendship, it is the only ship for true promotion.  This has opened my understanding to the truth that, friends are supposed to  promote  each other, not to  demote  each other. Friends are the only ones who are tasked to genuinely promote without any expectations of reward. Aside friends, anyone else who does that does it because of what they will get in return.  Unfortunately, this truth has been covered. Friends of today wishes the downfall of each other. Come to think of it, a friend who tries to bring you down, is that one too a friend? A friend who will only help you rise when she will benefit, is that one too a friend? A friend who will recognize the star in you but do nothing to let the world see but rather do unnecessary things like joking and gossiping with you, is that one too a friend? A friend who will watch you climb the ladder yourself and just when y

Letter To My Dear Friend 1

Letter To My Dear Friend is a bit of  everything; fiction, friendship, fact, experience and wisdom. I wrote it with the aim of clearing the wrong mentality the world has created of friendship in the minds of the youth, building friendships and enlighten the young ones on what friendship should be about. And as the days unfolds, I will share each part of it with you. Read on. Dear Friend , If you can’t PRAY with me,  don’t PLAY with me. Gone are the days when we were naive, and saw certain demands irrelevant. As we grow, we come to realise that,  praying  is more relevant than  playing . We’ve come to acknowledge the power of prayer in our lives; not our prayer necessarily but prayers offered by others on our behalf.  Dear, sometimes, we need extra voice of power to be victorious in our endeavours. We need extra voice to remind us of the word, encourage us to go on our knees, and to intercede on our behalf. Have you ever come to a point in life where you wished there was someone out the

Whatever Is Done In Love Is Done Well!

"Truth" is one thing can't be hidden and the truth is, "Whatever is done in love is done well".  Vincent Van Gogh said it right when he said, "Whoever loves much, performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well." He couldn't have said any better, and I wholeheartedly buttress him on that, as his quote isn't just deep or true, it as well practical, and most of us are living testimonies to that. Many at times, when we find ourselves doing things we are not passionate about, we don't do it well. Not because we can't do it well or don't want to do it well, but because we are not doing it with joy or with all our will. While in junior high school, I was well known for doing a number of things including reading, writing, reciting poems, dancing and acting. I was also known to be very good in art related subjects such as English Language and  Social Studies. I wasn't known for doing all these j

9 Life Changing Lessons From "The Encounter" Part 1

Written by Sean Paul Murphy and Timothy Ratajczak,  and directed by David A. R. Wnile,  The Encounter Part One is one of the most refreshing Christian movies I have watched in a long time that touched on real life situations people face and how God takes a tough decision to allow certain things to come their way so that they might be saved. The movie that touched my heart (and the heart of many who have watched it), tells a story of how five strangers were compelled by the closure6 of a road to come together at a eatery, had an encounter with Jesus (the owner) - an encounter that brought them to a life changing decision. The strangers were: - Nick a former NFL player and owner of burger restaurants. - Hank and Catherine, a married couple whose marriage is at the point of collapsing. - Melissa, a Christian on her way to meet her boyfriend (an atheist)  with the hope that he will propose to her. - Kayla,  a young girl escaping the ugly living conditions in Los Angeles.

5 Most Important Things I've Learnt About Volunteering

What is volunteering? According to  Cecilia Acheampong , Volunteering is the act of offering yourself to undertake a service or a project with a deep passion towards that project. Read on as I disclose some of the things I've learnt about  volunteering  that I consider most important. 1. Everyone has something to offer.   One   doesn't need to be young or old or rich or poor, before he or she can volunteer. When it comes to  volunteering , the greatest requirement is passion and willingness, not qualifications or age range. As a volunteer, I've come to acknowledge the fact that volunteering has to do with "what you can offer" and not "what you can't offer". "...I believe everyone has something to offer when it comes to volunteering so don't underrate your ability." says Cecilia Acheampong. Subsequently, ranging from money down to skills, you can offer something.    2. You are able to impact lives.  Do you know what it feel

Happiness - The Platform For Purpose Discovery

Today, as I was preparing to leave the house, I was visited by a friend who needed my advice on how to discover her purpose. "It's simple! Discover what makes you happy and you are not far from your purpose." I had told her. Happiness is the potential platform for discovering your purpose in life. I know this because I'm a living testimony to that - it has worked for me over and over. It has worked for others too. You mostly feel excited doing certain things when you have what it takes to do it or when you've got the abilities. How endowed you are in that particular field is what makes you feel great about doing it. And once you are capable of and excited about doing it, there is a purpose for it. Yes, your purpose lies in it. As a child,  I discovered the  writer  in me the very day I acknowledged how writing makes me happy. An entirely different kind of joy overwhelms me each time I write down my thoughts or ideas  - a kind of joy I was

Why I Love Spending Time Alone...

In today's world, spending time alone is a difficult task for most young people. We are either on the phone (social media), with friends or doing something entirely different. However, spending time alone is very essential and healthy, and I love doing it for numerous reasons.  One reason why finding solitude excites me is the fact that it aids me to get things done.  Yes, I get things done. Sometimes, the list of things I need to get done becomes longer and longer, and it seems the words are more the action. This is as a result of stress and pressure from people and daily activities. But when I am alone, I am able to figure out, write down, plan and actually get things done. It always works so to get things done I seek solitude. Whenever I spend time with myself, I have the freedom to be me, to think me and to do me.  There's no pressure on how well I perform and no instructions. My thoughts, ideas, words and all movements are totally free from those in my circl

When Life Smiles At You...

So everyone encounters bad moments. Moments when life punches you with real hard blows; when it pours down storms or stones instead of rain; when the tears just can’t stop flowing and when your head can’t stop spinning. Yes, those moments are moments when life frowns at you and I mean real frown – one that hastens ageing. Trust me on this,  no one is an exemption when it comes to such moments. Everyone encounters it at least thrice in life. They get to that junction where all they feel like is giving up. Where their vision becomes blur, they become very weak and dark cloud is all that surrounds them. Where the only strength they think they have is one for giving up. If you ever find yourself in such a moment, tell me, will you return to where you started from,  remain where you’ve gotten to or keep moving towards your dreams?  Then again, wait a moment. There comes another hour in life when beautiful moments arrive – when you can’t stop smiling for a second. Yes,  that’s when life smil
