I'm Super Excited I Participated In Django Girls Koforidua

Earlier, I was telling some friends how much love I have developed for programming. I also told them how glad I was participating in the Django Girls Koforidua event. Wondering why? Read this.

Acquisition of new skills. Whenever I acquire a new skill, my heart says to me, "it is not enough, acquire more" and I enjoy obeying my heart. It is true I have skills but it is also true they were incomplete without the new one I just acquired at the workshop. And for your information, Coding is my new love.

Expansion of Network. Networking is one of the reasons I love attending events and participating in this workshop did introduce me to amazing young ladies as well as impact driven young men nailing it out there. These great minds were worth meeting and some were worth having in my cycle of influence. Ever heard "surround yourself with people on the same mission"? Yep.

Fun, Fun and Fun. Yes, I really had fun. Right from taking 'selfie' and capturing the moments, down to the 'choo' (chopping) time. However, getting along pretty well and seeing some of my colleagues give unsatisfactory expressions made me laugh too. I was excited at each progress I made and I was smiley through it all.

Feeling of Satisfaction. You read it right, I felt very satisfied at the workshop. Can you relate to that feeling when you never thought you'd be able to learn something in just a day yet you were able to do that? How about grabbing some Jollof rice and chicken when you hungry? You felt satisfied right? I starved for days as I waited for the day and when it arrived, my joy knew no bounds. Super excited.

Increased chances of making money wherever I find myself. Acquiring a new skill, increasing your network cycle and grabbing a new certificate, do you know what that means? The fast growth of global village has enabled we ladies who are into tech to make a living wherever we find ourselves. Moreover, programmers happen to be one of the very ones earning real cash in today's world.

Boosted my love for volunteering. I love volunteering, no doubt about that but participating in Django Girls has taken that love to another level - I love it even more. Being a beneficiary of volunteering has made me feel what others always felt and it has given me an extra urge to make others feel double of what I felt. Plus, I have a skill that enables us to solve societal problems.
