Whatever Is Done In Love Is Done Well!

"Truth" is one thing can't be hidden and the truth is, "Whatever is done in love is done well".  Vincent Van Gogh said it right when he said, "Whoever loves much, performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well." He couldn't have said any better, and I wholeheartedly buttress him on that, as his quote isn't just deep or true, it as well practical, and most of us are living testimonies to that. Many at times, when we find ourselves doing things we are not passionate about, we don't do it well. Not because we can't do it well or don't want to do it well, but because we are not doing it with joy or with all our will. While in junior high school, I was well known for doing a number of things including reading, writing, reciting poems, dancing and acting. I was also known to be very good in art related subjects such as English Language and  Social Studies. I wasn't known for doing all these j

9 Life Changing Lessons From "The Encounter" Part 1

Written by Sean Paul Murphy and Timothy Ratajczak,  and directed by David A. R. Wnile,  The Encounter Part One is one of the most refreshing Christian movies I have watched in a long time that touched on real life situations people face and how God takes a tough decision to allow certain things to come their way so that they might be saved. The movie that touched my heart (and the heart of many who have watched it), tells a story of how five strangers were compelled by the closure6 of a road to come together at a eatery, had an encounter with Jesus (the owner) - an encounter that brought them to a life changing decision. The strangers were: - Nick a former NFL player and owner of burger restaurants. - Hank and Catherine, a married couple whose marriage is at the point of collapsing. - Melissa, a Christian on her way to meet her boyfriend (an atheist)  with the hope that he will propose to her. - Kayla,  a young girl escaping the ugly living conditions in Los Angeles.

5 Most Important Things I've Learnt About Volunteering

What is volunteering? According to  Cecilia Acheampong , Volunteering is the act of offering yourself to undertake a service or a project with a deep passion towards that project. Read on as I disclose some of the things I've learnt about  volunteering  that I consider most important. 1. Everyone has something to offer.   One   doesn't need to be young or old or rich or poor, before he or she can volunteer. When it comes to  volunteering , the greatest requirement is passion and willingness, not qualifications or age range. As a volunteer, I've come to acknowledge the fact that volunteering has to do with "what you can offer" and not "what you can't offer". "...I believe everyone has something to offer when it comes to volunteering so don't underrate your ability." says Cecilia Acheampong. Subsequently, ranging from money down to skills, you can offer something.    2. You are able to impact lives.  Do you know what it feel

Happiness - The Platform For Purpose Discovery

Today, as I was preparing to leave the house, I was visited by a friend who needed my advice on how to discover her purpose. "It's simple! Discover what makes you happy and you are not far from your purpose." I had told her. Happiness is the potential platform for discovering your purpose in life. I know this because I'm a living testimony to that - it has worked for me over and over. It has worked for others too. You mostly feel excited doing certain things when you have what it takes to do it or when you've got the abilities. How endowed you are in that particular field is what makes you feel great about doing it. And once you are capable of and excited about doing it, there is a purpose for it. Yes, your purpose lies in it. As a child,  I discovered the  writer  in me the very day I acknowledged how writing makes me happy. An entirely different kind of joy overwhelms me each time I write down my thoughts or ideas  - a kind of joy I was

Why I Love Spending Time Alone...

In today's world, spending time alone is a difficult task for most young people. We are either on the phone (social media), with friends or doing something entirely different. However, spending time alone is very essential and healthy, and I love doing it for numerous reasons.  One reason why finding solitude excites me is the fact that it aids me to get things done.  Yes, I get things done. Sometimes, the list of things I need to get done becomes longer and longer, and it seems the words are more the action. This is as a result of stress and pressure from people and daily activities. But when I am alone, I am able to figure out, write down, plan and actually get things done. It always works so to get things done I seek solitude. Whenever I spend time with myself, I have the freedom to be me, to think me and to do me.  There's no pressure on how well I perform and no instructions. My thoughts, ideas, words and all movements are totally free from those in my circl

When Life Smiles At You...

So everyone encounters bad moments. Moments when life punches you with real hard blows; when it pours down storms or stones instead of rain; when the tears just can’t stop flowing and when your head can’t stop spinning. Yes, those moments are moments when life frowns at you and I mean real frown – one that hastens ageing. Trust me on this,  no one is an exemption when it comes to such moments. Everyone encounters it at least thrice in life. They get to that junction where all they feel like is giving up. Where their vision becomes blur, they become very weak and dark cloud is all that surrounds them. Where the only strength they think they have is one for giving up. If you ever find yourself in such a moment, tell me, will you return to where you started from,  remain where you’ve gotten to or keep moving towards your dreams?  Then again, wait a moment. There comes another hour in life when beautiful moments arrive – when you can’t stop smiling for a second. Yes,  that’s when life smil
