"Who is a damsel?" the now exceptionally beautiful damsel I've grown to address as my little sister asked with charm exhibiting itself through her smiles. Deelia is one shrewd girl I loved so much. I was a bit surprised when she asked me that question considering the fact that she is always disturbing her dictionary. "Is she kidding me? She don't know who a damsel is? Or she is just asking because of the title of my first book, Dear Damsel ?" I asked myself in thoughts as she looked on with an expectant expression. "According to the dictionary, a damsel is a young unmarried woman ", I replied her with a teasing smile. " Oh okay. You were the first person I heard that word from, that's why I decided to ask you. At least, now I know I am a damsel." She confessed. But the question is, does being an unmarried young woman make you a damsel? I woke up today exhilarated by the fact that I'm now an author; every part of me was urging me to share the good news with you my amazing friends, family and readers. Unlike the previous days where I valued the essence of waiting for sometime, today, I valued the essence of letting you know that I am officially an author (remember in my post - My 2017 in 17 Sentences - I mentioned working on my relationship with you?). The journey of a writer is never an easy one but the transition from the position of a writer to the position of an author of a book is more difficult. I must admit it hasn't been easy but despite the roughness of the road, I have reached this new milestone. I  I did it; we made it! I am so much grateful to God for the wisdom He's given me to write this book. I am also grateful to you for all the love and support you've shown me till this very moment. As far as I can remember, there has never been a single instance in my life where there was a change in life; where life was better. As humans, we prefer listening to soothing lies in bad times than we prefer listening to and accepting the hard truth . But the truth of the matter is, whether we like or do not like the truth, it doesn't change its state, it remains the truth. The truth is that, life doesn't get better . Who ever said life gets better lied about that; it doesn't get better. It will never get better because life is life; life is while we are still breathing; it is our existence. Do you know what gets better? We get better! Things get better! Situations improve! Strength renews, spirit revives, soul refreshes, and the heart heals. Each one of us had our own share of the year 2017 and irrespective how certain things didn't go well, the year was indeed a good one. The sentences below are just a glimpse of what my year was like; the good and the bad. Check them out. *Grace kept me alive throughout the year. *I discovered an entirely new part of God and heyye He provided my needs throughout the year. *I discovered some parts of me that I never knew existed and I am still in the business of discovering myself. *I attended lot of events, acquired new skills and expanded my network. *I had 5 speaking engagements and emceed 3 events. *Together with the Today's Youth Team , I launched Today's Youth TV. *I spent most of my time reading and volunteering than I spent on writing. *On many occasions, I was the answer to the cry of quiet a number of people. *Few friends gave me real good treats and showed me love in new style, it did blow my mind. *I failed over and over and yet it seemed normal to me. ...

Earlier, I was telling some friends how much love I have developed for programming. I also told them how glad I was participating in the Django Girls Koforidua event. Wondering why? Read this. Acquisition of new skills . Whenever I acquire a new skill, my heart says to me, "it is not enough, acquire more" and I enjoy obeying my heart. It is true I have skills but it is also true they were incomplete without the new one I just acquired at the workshop. And for your information, Coding is my new love. Expansion of  Network . Networking is one of the reasons I love attending events and participating in this workshop did introduce me to amazing young ladies as well as impact driven young men nailing it out there. W henever I'm so much content with what my sweet Jesus is doing or has done for me, He does something entirely new again. Perhaps to surprise me or better still, just to remind me, He's not done with me yet. Campus Agenda is a campus based show aired on KTU Radio 87.7 MHz and I'm the host. Good news right? Of course, it's a good news. I'm grateful you're part of this new chapter of my life. Thanks for your love and support even up to this very point if the journey. Yes, those moments are moments when life frowns at you and I mean real frown – one that hastens ageing. Trust me on this,  no one is an exemption when it comes to such moments. Everyone encounters it at least thrice in life. They get to that junction where all they feel like is giving up.
